Abstract: For many numerical computation algorithms, the very last step is to solve an algebra equation or a system of algebraic equations. Most of these algebraic equations cannot be solved analytically. In this talk, we will visit a few direct methods and iterative methods for solving the roots of the algebraic equations. We will compare these algorithms and discuss the criteria for using each algorithm.
