Blended Worlds of Mathematical Thinking:  A Framework for Topological Problem-Solving

Abstract: The research into topology education is fairly underdeveloped. To enable further research into the topic, a theoretical framework for addressing the unique qualities of topological problems would be beneficial. In this talk, I will discuss and demonstrate a networking of Tall's Three Worlds of Mathematical Thinking and the theory of Cognitive Blending alongside Schoenfeld's Problem-Solving framework. Some initial data will be presented in order understand the goals of this theory and how well it may achieve them.
