Abstract: It is known that certain counts of tropical curves agree with corresponding counts of algebraic curves, provided the tropical curves are enumerated with certain multiplicities.  In joint work with Helge Ruddat, we develop new techniques to compute these multiplicities using operations on polyvector fields.  Our proof is based on a novel definition of (2-dimensional) tropical quantum field theory.
