Abstract: Research involves finding problems to work on, figuring out what is already known about them, and then investigating them on your own. Each of these tasks requires different skills and tools. We'll describe and demo some methods and tools for these tasks, illustrating at least part of the process with some sample mathematical research problems. This will be a tag-team presentation by a mathematician and a librarian.
