Exam III will be in the usual classroom on November 27, 2001. It will cover sections 13.1 to
13.7. As usual, there is no use for a calculator, and paper will be provided.
There is no problem involving cylindrical coordinates, but there will be heavy emphasis on
spherical coordinates. Equations of lines, spheres, and planes will be needed. The geometric
meaning of dot product and cross product will be tested, and of course one must be able to
calculate them algebraically. There is one question on quadric surfaces which requires general
familiarity with their equations, but it should not be necessary to memorize their specific
forms.
