Mathematics 2433-003H - Honors Calculus III - Fall 2001

Information about Exam II

Exam II will be in the usual classroom on November 1, 2001. It will cover sections 12.8 through 12.10, and section 13.1. Also, review and make sure you fully understand the alternating series convergence criterion from section 12.5, and the ratio test from section 12.6.

Again, there is no use for a calculator. I will provide blank paper on which to put your answers, but if you prefer to use your own, bring it to the exam.

You will need to understand the radius of convergence R. The statement of Taylor's Theorem will be given, as well as the formula of Lagrange for R_n(x,a). You will need to know the general form of the coefficients in the Taylor series. You will need to know the Maclaurin series of sin(x), cos(x), e^x, and ln(1+x).
