Exam I will be in the usual classroom on September 25, 2001. It will cover sections 11.1-11.5
and 12.1 through 12.7.
We will not use calculators, since there is no reasonable use for one. I will provide blank
paper on which to put your answers, but if you prefer to use your own, bring it to the exam.
The exam may involve definitions, statements of theorems, calculations, and giving examples,
as well as routine book problems. There will be some emphasis on the problems given as
homework.
There will be some problems that you have not seen before and it is not expected that you
will be able to do all of them, so do not panic if there are several problems that cause you
difficulty. You will not need 90% to get an A.
