Information about Final Exam

The Final Exam will be in the usual classroom on December 12, 2001. Note that by general agreement, it will start at 9:15 a. m , not at the previously announced time. You will have an extra 15 minutes, so the exam will end at 11:30.

The point breakdown by section of the text is approximately as follows:

You will need to know the following from memory:
  1. Sum of geometric series.
  2. General formula for the Taylor series.
  3. The Maclaurin series of sin(x), cos(x), and e^x.
  4. Standard convergence tests: Comparison, Alternating Series Criterion, Ratio, Root, Limit Comparison.
  5. Curvature: definition as dT/ds, but not formulas for curvature in terms of r(t), etc., nor formulas for a_T and a_N.
