Exam III will be in the usual classroom on April 20, 2001.
It will be worth 52 points (2 extra points possible), and cover sections 4.1-4.5 and 4.9.
Circling your correct discussion section day and hour on the first page of the exam will be
worth 1 point.
Only a basic, non-graphing calculator may be used. Actually, there is no need to use a
calculator.
There will be emphasis on:
1. | The Mean Value Theorem. |
2. | Calculation of limits as x --> infinity or x --> - infinity (plugging in values on a calculator to guess the limiting values will not receive any credit, points will only be given if mathematical reasoning is given to correctly analyze the limiting behavior). |
3. | Definitions, and statements of theorems. |
4. | Tools for graphing functions. |
