Mathematics 2443-006H - Honors Calculus IV - Spring, 2002

Information about Exam II

Exam II will be in the usual classroom on March 28, 2002. It will cover sections 16.1-16.9.

You can use a small nongraphics calculator if you wish, although there is no need for it. I will provide blank paper on which to put your answers, but you may use your own paper if you prefer it.

The exam will be relatively straightforward. The approximate point breakdown by section of the text is as follows:

16.1 6
16.2 6
16.3 6
16.4 6
16.5 6
16.6 10
16.7 8
16.8 6
16.9 10
 Total 64

You will need to know the formulas for x, y, z, and dV in spherical coordinates, the definition of the Jacobian, and the change of variables formula involving the Jacobian. Know the definition of centroid (center of mass assuming the density is constant) and how to calculate it.
