Mathematics 3113-005 - Introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations - Spring 2011

Information about Quiz 6

Quiz 6 will be in the usual classroom on Friday, April 8. It will cover sections 4.1 and 5.1. In particular, know how to rewrite a higher-order ODE or system as a first-order system. Know the basic algebraic operations on matrices and the determinant function. Understand how to view a first-order linear system as a matrix equation of the form X'=PX+F, and what the solutions are like.

Remember that no mechanical assistance or electronic device of any kind is to be used, other than a super-basic non-programmable non-graphing calculator (although that is not really necessary). As usual, you will receive a quiz and some blank paper. Please write your solutions on the blank paper, write your name on the quiz itself and on your solutions, and turn both in. Request additional blank paper if you need it during the quiz.
