Assignments
First assignment: already done in
class on Friday (writing the paragraph about your favorite
previous math class).
Second assignment (due in my e-mail box by 8 am on Wed. Aug.
27):
read sections 1.1-1.7 of Krantz' book, and the handout titled "Teaching by Lecture", and e-mail me a paragraph or two summarizing
the readings and your reaction to them.
e-mail me a paragraph on your reaction to the first day of class you taught.

Third assignment (due in my e-mail box by 8 am Wed. Sept. 3): find a class, taught by a graduate student not in their first year of teaching,
which you would like to sit in on. Sit in on the class (15 minutes is long enough), and e-mail me your impressions.
Fourth assignment: micro-teaching. Viewing the video of your micro-teaching is optional. If you would
like to do it, make an appointment with me to view your video at your convenience.
Fifth assignment: make up a college algebra test based on the handout I gave out in class on Oct. 1.
Bring this assignment to class on Oct. 15.
Sixth assignment: read the following case study before class on Nov. 5: "Study Habits"
