Abstract: One of the open problems in the field of partial differential equations relates to Hilbert’s sixth problem, which seeks to have a unified theory of gas dynamics that connects the mesoscopic Boltzmann equations with macroscopic fluid models in formal limits. In this talk, I will present recent advancements on derivation of singular fluid systems as the hydrodynamic limits of the Boltzmann equations.
