Abstract: Langlands program is a web of far-reaching and consequential conjectures about connections between number theory and geometry, proposed by Robert Langlands in the 1960's. In this talk, we will try to give a modest introduction about how these conjectures look like for the group GL(2) over a local field. The main goal of the talk will be to provide an exposition of these topics rather than detailed proofs.
