Abstract: Modular forms are special functions arising in number theory. Basic data of modular forms includes their parameters (weight and level), Fourier coefficients, and certain signs called root numbers. The Fourier coefficients and root numbers are well known to be equidistributed in a suitable sense. I will discuss some unexpected biases and correlations for these quantities in families of modular forms.
