Abstract: There is a duality process, studied by various people in various contexts, on the character rings of certain "nice" groups—these include reductive groups and finite groups of Lie type. We will consider this process in the especially nice context of GL_n(F), over a finite field F, with an aim toward translating results to the p-adic group context.
